Your vehicle's finish is exposed to many environmental hazards that can cause damage to the finish. Waxes and sealants are typically applied to protect the finish, however, traditional wax requires frequent application and offers limited protection. Ceramic coatings are the next generation of automotive finish protection.
What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic Coating (nanocoating), is a liquid polymer that creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond with your vehicle's paint creating a protective barrier. (For example, a single layer of Opti-Coat coating can measure up to 2 microns in thickness, which is 100 times thicker than wax.) The coating also enhances the paint's reflective properties and improves its depth and clarity.
Another great feature of a Ceramic Coating is its ability to repel water (hydrophobic). The slick surface will minimize the amount of dirt, dust and grime sticking to your vehicle's finish, making the cleaning and maintenance a lot quicker and easier.
Bottom line...Opti-Coat Pro applied to your vehicle offers additional barrier, that is resistant to chemical etching, harder than factory clear coat (reducing swirls and scratches), and a permanent hydrophobic surface.
We offer several coating brands including Opti-Coat, CQuartz and Gyeon and many options to suit your needs and budget.
The process of Ceramic Coating installation is time consuming and requires a great amount of skill. Experienced technicians are needed to properly prepare the surface and apply the coating. Every step is critical to assure the coating is applied and will bond properly to your vehicle's surface resulting in long-lasting protection.
The prep process typically consists of a thorough wash, paint decontamination, and some level of polishing and paint correction. The goal is to make the surface free from imperfections, swirls, water spot etching, scratches, stains, and so on. After the prep process, the surface is once again cleaned, checked and is then ready for the coating installation.
The coating, in a form of liquid, is applied by hand (for most paint surfaces) or airbrush (in the tighter, hard to reach areas).
If you're receiving paint protection installation service in addition to the coating installation, the coating would be applied over the film as the final step to the process.
